Veterinary surgeon (temporary provision)

If you wish to operate as a veterinary surgeon on a temporary or occasional basis, you must notify the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration of this.

You will need this:

If you wish to operate as a veterinary surgeon on a temporary or occasional basis, you must – in advance - make a written declaration to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration of this. You must also send in the following documents, the first time you send in your declaration:

  • Proof of your nationality, for example a copy of the relevant pages of your passport.
  • A Certificate of Good Professional Standing.
  • A copy of your diploma.

Your declaration must also include information about if the service you will be providing involves prescribing prescriptions. Be aware, that in Denmark only veterinary surgeons, who are authorised in Denmark, are allowed to writing prescriptions with regard to veterinary medicine.

You must renew your declaration yearly, if you wish to operate on a temporary/occasional base for more than a year.
