If you want to work at a Danish pharmacy or hospital pharmacy, you need to have a permission from the Danish Medicines Agency.

You must submit a written application to the Danish Medicines Agency for permission to pursue the professional activities of a pharmaconomist at a community pharmacy or hospital pharmacy in Denmark. There is no application form. Documents to be enclosed with your application:

  1. A certified copy of documentation of name, nationality and date of birth. (E.g. in the form of certify copies of the relevant pages of your passport). If there has been a change in the name because of marriage, a copy of the marriage license should also be submitted.

  2. Curriculum vitae/ résumé

  3. Diploma of graduation.

    1. The diploma should be translated into Danish or English, made by the educational institution or authority, who issued the diploma, or by an authorised interpreter.

  4. Material from the educational institution where it shows which subjects and number of lessons the applicant has attended during the education.

All copies of original documents must be certified true copies. Embassies, police, respective university/educational institution or notary public can certify copies. The authority in question must stamp and sign each copy and confirm that the copy is a true copy of the original document. Private individuals cannot certify copies.

If the documents are not in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish or English, you must submit a certified translation of the documents into either of these languages. Translation must be performed by one of the following:

  1. The educational institution or the authority that issued the document

  2. A state-authorized translator. Translator's name and stamp must be legible. Should the stamp not be in Danish og English, a state-authorized translation of the stamp is required. The translator must seal the translation together with the document in the original language. The Danish Medicines Agency may in some cases accept other translations.

The Danish Medicines Agency may at any time ask you to submit further documentation necessary for our assessment of your application, just as we may ask you to present us with the original documents.
