Report asbestos work

Provided that worker exposure is sporadic and of low intensity, and that the exposure limit for asbestos will not be exceeded in the air of the working area, then the following types of work do not need to be reported:

1. Short, non-continuous maintenance activities in which only non-friable materials are handled

2. Encapsulation or sealing of asbestos-containing materials which are in good condition

3. Air monitoring and control, and the collection of samples to ascertain whether a specific material contains asbestos.

You must submit the notification before the work starts, preferably 3 days in advance.

If this is not possible, for example in case of emergency repair work, you must report the work as soon as you can, even if it can only happen after the work is carried out.

No fees are charged for notification.
