Notify the Product Registry of hazardous substances and materials

If your company produces, exports to Denmark or changes the trade name of any hazardous products or materials in quantities equal to or exceeding 100 kg per year, and the products or materials are used professionally in Denmark, you have a duty to notify to the Product Registry.

This also applies to pure chemical substances in quantities between 100 kg and up to 1000 kg per year, which do not require notification according to REACH.

Deadlines for notification and replies

Notification must be submitted no later than 1 month after production or import.

The PR number must be stated on product packaging no later than 1 year after the notification.

Notification is free of charge.

When you notify a product, you will be asked to provide the following information:

• Trade name of your product

• Physical state of the product

• The composition stated by CAS numbers, EU numbers or raw material PR number, including the weight percentage of each component. The composition must add up to 100 per cent.

• Labelling, including hazard symbols, signal word and relevant H-and P-phrases.

• Technical function of the product.

• Industries to which the product is sold.

• Expected quantities to be distributed on the domestic market, for export and own use.

The last 3 points must be filled in by the Danish importer when notification is done by a foreign company.

Foreign companies that notify the Product Registry must provide the CVR number of the Danish importer.

The PR number will be visible in the Product Registry once notification has been completed with all necessary information.

If there is a Danish importer, notification is completed as soon as the import has been accepted.
