The GVD scheme is an approval scheme where building components in contact with drinking water can be approved before they are marketed and sold in Denmark. The approval scheme is financed by fees.
The GDV scheme covers approval of the health-related properties of the building components. The approval scheme contributes to ensure compliance with the quality requirements for drinking water, when the consumer opens the tap. The GDV scheme covers building components, which are part of the fixed drinking water installations of buildings up to and including the tap and which are in contact with drinking water, such as pipes, fittings, valves, taps, devices, etc.
The holder of the approval has the right to mark the building components approved under the GDV scheme with the “Godkendt til drikkevand” marking (Approved for use with drinking water) in accordance with the Executive Order on the placement on the market and sale of building components that come into contact with drinking water.
The GDV approvals are among the certificates/approvals, which can be used to document the health-related properties of building components in contact with drinking water so that they can legally be marketed and sold in Denmark.
