Authorisation for cultivation of genetically modified crops (establishment)

The decision on whether or not to issue an authorisation will be made as soon as possible after all necessary documents have been received. Normally you can expect to get an answer from The Danish Agricultural Agency within four weeks.

In case of rejection

If The Danish Agricultural Agency decides to reject your application for authorisation, you will receive a reasoned notification. If you disagree with the decision to refuse your application, you have the right to appeal. The deadline for submitting an appeal is four weeks from date on which the decision was announced.

If you are a non-EU citizen, other rules apply. Please contact the Danish Agricultural Agency for more information. There is no fee required for authorisation, but a fee applies for growing genetically modified crops in Denmark.

You can get a license to grow, handle and transport genetically modified crops in Denmark by taking a course offered by an authorised provider. A list of authorised providers of such courses can be found at The Danish Agricultural Agency's website.
