Pilotage service provider registration

The pilotage service providers shall be domiciled in an EU/EEA country.

A pilotage service provider shall take out and keep an insurance covering the liability incurred by the pilot either pursuant to section 151 of the merchant shipping act or as a consultant.

The insurance mentioned shall have a coverage minimum of at least DKK 5.0 million.

In straightforward cases, you can expect to get an answer from the Danish Maritime Authority within one month.

In case of rejection, appeals must be addressed to the Danish Shipping Tribunal.
