We process the personal data for the following purpose:

• For the use of issuing of certificates of  proficiency, competency and recognition.

The legal basis for our processing of the personal data arises from:

• Consolidated act no. 74 of 17 January 2014 om the manning of ships

• Order no. 783 of 12 June 2018 on the recognition of foreign certificates for service on  merchant ships and training in Danish maritime legislation (certificates of recognition)

• Order no. 1145 of 29 September 2015 on qualification requirements for seafarers and fishermen and on certificates of competency and certificates of proficiency

We process following catagories of personal data:

• CPR-no. 

• Information on health 

• Ordinary personal data

We do not pass on information

We do not transfer information

From the applicant or the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR)

We keep the data as long as it is nessesary for the purpose os our regulatory task regarding safety at sea. The certificates provide a basis for competency of the ship’s crew and are used upon renewal of the certificates every five years. (All information can be deleted by request).

If personal data about you has been handed over, you have, at any time, the right to withdraw your consent. You can do this by contacting us.

If you choose to withdraw your consent, it does not affect the legality of our processing of your personal data based on your former given consent and up to the time of withdrawal. Therefore, if you withdraw your consent, this will only become effective from this time.

You have, through the Genereal Data Protection Regulation, multiple rights regarding our processing of data about you. If you would like to make use of your rights, you have to contact the Danish Maritime Authority.

Right to see data (Right of access)

You have the right to gain access to the data about you that we process, and a number of additionally data.

Right to rectification (correction)

You have the right to rectify incorrect data about yourself.

Right to erasure

In special cases, you have the right to get data about you erased before the time when our normal general erasure happens.

Right to restriction of processing

In certain cases, you have the right to get the processing of your data restricted. If you have the right to get the processing restricted, we may in the future only process the data – except from storage – with your consent, or in order to determine, enforce or defend a legal claim, or to protect a person or important public interest.

Right to objection

In some cases, you have the right to object against our processing of your personal data.

Right to transmit data (dataportability)

In some cases, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format, and get these data transferred from one controller to another, without hindrance.
