Release of wildfowl - course (temporary provision and establishment)

It is obligatory to have participated in a course on the release of wildfowl if you are responsible for the release of more than 100 pheasants, partridges or ducks.

An application for approval of the course should contain information on the content of the course, including in particular whether the course covers the following elements:

  • Review of relevant legislation covering hunting and its regulation, animal welfare, animal and hunting ethics and nature and environmental protection.

  • Review of relevant legislation covering fallow and good agricultural and environmental conditions (GAEC).

  • Ethical rules relating to the breeding and release of wildfowl.

  • Biology of ground fowl, including their requirements for food and shelter/nesting in the open countryside.

  • Application of traps and their design and use, including authorisation for and use of fox traps.

  • Relevant rules issued by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and the Danish Food Industry Agency.

  • Excursion to a country estate where the implementation of a biotope plan has been initiated.
