The Danish producer register

If your company puts products subject to producer responsibility on the market in Denmark, you must register. Otherwise, it may affect your possibility of selling such products. By assuming your producer responsibility, you contribute to ensuring better utilisation of resources and that less waste ends up in nature - to the benefit of both producers the environment.

In the Danish producer register you can register your company’s producer responsibility and report statutory quantities. Present producer responsibility fields in the register:

• Packaging

• Fishing gear

• Single-use plastics (from October 1st 2024)

Producer responsibility is the legal and financial responsibility incumbent on producers for products put on the market. This responsibility entails that producers must contribute to paying for clean-up and handling of the environmental impacts from the production of their products. The aim is to motivate producers into producing safe and environmentally friendly products and handling waste from their products in a responsible manner.
